Power of Togetherness

(2019 Retreat Theme: Recharge)

Rajit Abraham

In September, IAG hosted its annual retreat at Covenant Hills, Otisville, MI. This year’s theme was RECHARGE, a reminder that our busy lives can stop us from getting closer to God. It was time to recharge and renew our vows made to God.

The two-day retreat was jam packed with fun activities, such as rock climbing, archery, zip lining, kayaking, indoor volleyball and basketball games. As always, the highlight of the event was a sumptuous array of traditional Indian food, including dosa and omelette cooked in thattukada (street food) style. The campus with its rustic forest setting and serene atmosphere offered a perfect environment to recharge, renew and refocus. Thank you to coordinators Br. Rajat Abraham and Br. Moncy Chacko for their time and hard work.

The attendees had some nice words to say as well.

R. Pricilla

“I was reminded of this verse from Psalm 133: How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity. It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore. It was a joyful event which I will not forget. The place is so peaceful and filled with God's presence, I felt recharged in my soul. I tried kayaking for the first time and enjoyed so much. I want to take this opportunity to thank you and the church for all the arrangements.”

Philip Jacob

“During the retreat I had the opportunity to witness and partake in multiple activities. Whether it be outdoors at the bonfire, taking a walk around the facility, or even hanging around indoors in the game room. Throughout the presentation session, I got to see what the church's vision is as well as the potential implementation of that vision over the course of the next few years. Overall, the retreat was a positive experience for me as I was able to relax, hang out and ultimately recharge.”
